Mobile App
ESP devices running ESP Private Agents are set up and managed from a mobile app. There are two apps, both made by Espressif, both reusing your existing Espressif (RainMaker) account.
Which app to install

If you're not sure, install ESP RainMaker Home first. If you're setting up a Matter Controller agent, you'll also need the legacy app for the initial commissioning — the agent QR-assignment flow afterwards still happens in Home.
What the app does
- Pairs your device over Bluetooth (BLE) and pushes Wi-Fi credentials.
- Assigns an agent — when you scan an agent QR with your phone's camera, the app receives a deep link and pushes the agent ID to the device.
- Manages devices — rename, group, reprovision Wi-Fi, factory reset.
- For Matter Controller agents: commissions Matter devices and configures the Thread border router.
What the app doesn't do
- It's not where you create or configure agents — that's the Admin Dashboard.
- It doesn't store conversation transcripts.
