Conversations

Every chat with an agent is saved as a conversation. A conversation keeps the full message history, so you can return to a previous thread instead of starting over.

Use conversations to continue a topic, review earlier answers, or keep separate tasks organized.

Open Conversation History

On an agent's chat page, click the clock icon in the bottom-left icon group of the input area. This opens the Conversation History dialog for the current agent.

The dialog shows conversations you have had with that agent. Each entry includes:

  • A chat icon.
  • The conversation title.
  • A timestamp, such as a date or relative time.
  • A three-dot menu that appears when you hover over the entry.
  • A chevron that appears on hover and opens the conversation, the same as clicking the entry.

Search Conversations

Use the search field at the top of the Conversation History dialog to filter conversations by title. Results update as you type.

Search is most useful after you rename important conversations with descriptive titles. New conversations may appear as New Conversation until you rename them.

Continue a past conversation

  1. Open the Conversation History dialog.
  2. Click the conversation you want to reopen.
  3. The chat loads with the full message history.

When a previous thread opens, the chat shows a "Conversation resumed" indicator. The agent can use the earlier messages in that conversation as context for your next prompt.

Start a new conversation

Start a new conversation when you are changing topics or do not want earlier messages to influence the agent's answer.

There is no separate New Conversation button inside the Conversation History dialog. To start fresh:

  1. Open the ☰ drawer.
  2. Select the same agent again from Recently Used Agents, Your Agents, or Public Agents.
  3. The agent opens without a previous conversation selected.

You can also start a new conversation by opening the agent's root chat URL without a conversation ID.

At the start of a fresh thread, the chat shows a "New conversation started" indicator.

Rename or delete a conversation

Hover over a conversation entry in the Conversation History dialog. Click the three-dot menu that appears on the right side of the entry.

Rename a conversation

  1. Choose Rename from the three-dot menu.
  2. The rename dialog opens with the current title already filled in.
  3. Edit the title.
  4. Click Save.

Use short, specific titles that describe the task or topic, such as Tokyo trip planning, Invoice summary, or RainMaker device setup. Clear titles make search much more useful.

Delete a conversation

  1. Choose Delete from the three-dot menu.
  2. Review the confirmation dialog.
  3. Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the conversation.

Deletion is permanent. The messages and any files attached to that conversation are removed.

Conversations are per-agent

Each agent has its own conversation history. When you switch to another agent, the Conversation History dialog shows only conversations for that agent.

To view another agent's conversations, open the ☰ drawer and select that agent. Then click the clock icon on the chat page.

There is no global page that lists conversations across all agents.

Privacy

  • Other end users cannot see your conversations. Each user sees only their own history.
  • Conversations are saved server-side, so closing the browser does not delete or lose them.
  • Conversations are encrypted at rest.
  • Operators of the deployment that hosts the platform may have access to the underlying data store.
  • Deleting a conversation permanently removes its messages and attached files.

Tips

  • Use a fresh chat for unrelated topics. A conversation is part of the agent's context. Mixing unrelated tasks can make later answers harder to follow.
  • Keep related follow-ups in one conversation. The agent can use earlier messages in the same thread when answering.
  • Rename important threads. A title like Budget review Q2 is easier to find later than New Conversation.
  • Search before scrolling. The search box is faster than thumbing through dozens of titles.
